--- Barnes 2007 Highlights ---
Recorded and released Barnyard Electronics and toured in promotion of this folktronics record. The CD made several playlists of very strange radio shows, reaching number one on KDUR (thank you bryant ligget). Making this music and getting it out there was a joyful experience. This is a fantastic time to be making art.
The mechanics of the way everything is set up are very conducive to this behavior.
Played dates with Robbie Fulks, Greg Leisz, Jeff Austin, Kris Delmhorst, and Wayne Horvitz, trading duets and doing my folktronics music.
Toured extensively as a member of Robert Earl Keen's band, and selected shows in Tim O'Brien's Band.
Did two shows with Dave Matthews Band at the Hollywood Bowl and sat in with them on several occasions throughout the country.
Played two shows as a member of Charlie Louvin's Band.
Completed the recording of Wayne Horvitz' modern oratorio Joe Hill, playing the role of Joe Hill.
Performed the score to Harry Langdon's Tramp Tramp Tramp, which was co-written with Robbie Fulks.
Gave away a bunch of free music on my site.
Studied the banjo and music in general and practiced my ass off.
Got to study and learn from artists that I consider to be my heros.
Read quite a few books about philosophy, logic, poetry and sci fi.
Didn't get hung up TOO much at the airport.
Only had my luggage misplaced once, they found it.
Didn't get sick even once that i can remember.
