--- Kitchen Floor Waltz ---
Kitchen Floor Waltz originally appeared on a cd of mine called Dirt on
the Angel, as a guitar duet with my friend Bill Frisell. The piece was
written with the kind of harmony that was used in Church of Christ
hymnals, which was usually written using shape notes. The story for
the piece is that there is an elder couple dancing on the kitchen
floor, and if you or I walked by we wouldn't hear any music playing.
This is the music that played in their heads. The setting would be a
small apartment in a city somewhere.
My friend Barbara Lamb, fiddler extraordinaire from Nashville, took
the file and came up with a fiddle arrangement on top of what Bill and
I did. It sounded cool and here's what she came up with.
