Banjo pioneer and composer Danny Barnes will hold a special performance of his new project, Folktronics, at the Water Street Brewing and Ale House on Saturday, January 10th at 10:15 p.m. Local mandolinist and songwriter Matt Sircely opens the show at 9:00 p.m.
Local music enthusiasts have long been familiar with Barnes' work, for which he has earned wide acclaim around the world. The influences that inform his music reach across a broad musical spectrum, and his profound impact on vast legions of open-minded musicians place Barnes among the most influential musicians in modern American music.
With Folktronics, Barnes illustrates the art of fearless creativity by forging a rare union between folk and technology.
